Tomorrow is Ryan & my ONE YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!!
The year felt like it went by SO quickly.
Ryan joked that we'll be in a new city every year for our anniversary, but we're actually gonna make that a thing now bc we're 1:1.
Currently writing this from my phone bc I don't have wifi set up at our new place yet...
...because we are in San Francisco now! 🙌🙌😀🌈
Taking a moment in my morning before my official THIRD day of work to reflect & celebrate this past year. Since Ryan is a list-maker, why not turn this past year into 5 things that transformed our lives?! 😀
❤️ 1) Got married, BOTH combined our last names into a blend of both of our families to start our own family tradition. Resubmitted my Thesis while on Mini-moon part 1.
We used Iva Lee's Catering based in San Clemente, CA...and OMG. Are. They. Tasty! We still receive compliments to this day about the food at our wedding. We're still salivating over the memory of the scalloped potatoes, ourselves. 🤤😂
❤️ 2) Jetted off to Paris for Part 2 of our wedding to celebrate with close family & friends in France who couldn't come to CA but wanted to see us! We had a chic but down-to-Earth speakeasy-type cocktail celebration with a private view of the Tour Eiffel. We also rang in Ryan's and Karina's (his twin sister!) 30th Birthday! 🗼🎉✨
❤️ 3) Mini-mooned in Iceland. Need to go back to those natural hot spring pools.
❤️ 4) Moved to Minneapolis with Ryan. Met friends we will keep for life. Started actively job-hunting. Thought I was going to stay in MN when I finally asked Ryan where he really wanted to be. Where did he see himself to make a home? He told me how much he missed CA and said either CA or NYC. Or Philly. Really, either coast. So I noted that and told him I'd make it happen with my job search and start pivoting to focus on companies in those locations.
Man...when you accept the things within your heart, the Universe really delivers. ✨✨✨
❤️ 5) Moved to SF to start work.
Was in the middle of considering some positions when the company I work with now found me on my Angel.co profile. Within 2 weeks, I has a job offer. It was honestly such an easy decision because the co-founders are amazing people and really humble leaders. There's no ego here. ✌️
Last Monday, we packed up the Penske moving truck and started driving out West for Gold Rush 3.0. 😂 That's what I call the start-up life, because our gen has morphed mining for physical gold into INNOVATING and CREATING services, goods, and tools with the intention to deliver real meaning to people's lives. Made a stop to visit Ryan's family in South Jordan, Utah. Got to SF by Friday. Moved in. Got invited to a party on Sat. Started work on Mon. Love EVERYONE at Trusted Health!
Which also reminds me--anyone who is a Nurse, hollaaaa! 🙌🙌 I accepted this position of Community Operations to help improve the lives of Nurses and Travel Nurses. I wanna figure out how to best do that.
It's my personal mission.
Ryan and I are just super duper grateful for all of the overwhelming love and support.
We're so excited to make SF our home. San Francisco already feels like home. Everyone is friendly, PLUS I love my colleagues! I feel like this is all of the good karma built over the years that's finally manifesting itself into paving the way for the REAL career I want to keep building.
When we were in Paris, our talented and humble friend, Marie-Paola Bertrand-Hillion (who is a new Mama, what whatttt!! 🙌🙌), took some GORGEOUS photos of us in our Modern Couture Khmer Wedding Outfits as a gift!
We haven't shared these yet, so please enjoy!
Like everything else, we did our own take on the Khmer outfits. I payed homage to my traditional culture, but I did it my own way. I designed the outfits, and our AMAAAAZING Couturier, Kim Touch, translated them into these made-by-hand-with-love creations.
If you are interested in hiring Kim, she is based in Long Beach. She does made-to-measure for you, and I honestly just want everyone to appreciate her craftsmanship.
😍Email me or let me know if you want her to make a creation for you! 😘😘😘
Thanks for being with us on this exciting journey!
We love you!!!
