Excuse the revolution of SNOBY HIPPY!
Massively overhauling and renovating the design, layout, content, direction, etc. of this home.
DIY means starting with your life. Blogging for love. Honest sharing. Becoming self-reliant. Embracing independence.
I'm so sorry that SNOBBY HIPPY has taken such a backseat as I started my grad program!
In a nutshell, I'm back and better than ever!
I realized that everything I was doing was for the good and for philanthropic reasons, but at the end of the day, other than providing me with a sense of pride and honor in my work ethic and principles, I was living like a poor person because I did a LOT (and always a unique, brilliant job) for OTHER people, but I didn't have time or money for MYSELF (or my fam & fiance).
After coming back from one of the best summers I've had in a long time with my family & fiance abroad, I realize that my needs have changed, and so my wants have finally changed along with them.
With this comes the desire to make SNOBBY HIPPY into a home of which I can be proud.
I haven't given SH my 100% (not even my 50%), and that was obvious (at least, to me). JacquelineSo.com
are now my priorities over doing projects for other people.
THAT's what's going to be different this year.
This past year has been a tremendous experience of graduate/medical level, intense science coursework...and I loved every bit of it! Before, I felt guilty not giving classes my 100% attention, so if I took even a couple of hours blogging or doing something else, those were a couple of hours that I could have used towards more studying or finally calling my family. So, of course, I ended up not updating ideas that I wrote down or taking the time for myself to just be and enjoy.
Then, I went away with my family to Europe this past summer. We've been going since I was little, so I have a completely different life abroad. I have my own set of friends, family, local spots, etc. I even have exs! Hahaha but anyway, after enjoying life with my family and fiance, I came back to start the new school year with such a fresh and different perspective. The direction I'm taking my life in is different, and you'll see that reflected in the new SNOBBY HIPPY.
In the meantime, I'm testing different layouts, etc. until I'm totally satisfied with it, so please be patient (the current one gives me video embed issues). I started at codecademy.com
to freshen up on my basic coding skills, so you can be sure the upcoming changes will be great (highly recommend them, btw)!
Thanks for your support, and please feel free to leave any comments about the renovation of my life + blog!
